About Us
The Gymnastics Varsity Workshop is a series of gymnastics classes taught by the athletes of Needham High School's Girls Varsity Gymnastics team.

The mission of the program is to inspire a love of gymnastics in a pressure free environment with an emphasis on laughter and learning.

Five classes are offered for children grades preschool through six. Class will be held in Needham High School's "B" Gym on Saturdays during December and January.

The workshop was founded by former High School Varsity Gymnastics Coach Gary DeMaria in 1991 as a fundraisor for the Girls Varsity team. Gary retired from coaching after seven years but kept the program going due to its popularity. After 25 years with the workshop, Gary has passed retired from teaching at the program, but still remains active in helping with registrations and management.

Varsity Gymnastics Coach Abby Watt and lead instructor Vasyl Ohorilko works closely together with the team of varsity gymnasts to teach the program. Since its inception, the program has raised over $50,000 for Needham Schools. The money has been used to purchase equipment to support Gymnastics, Technology in the Needham Schools and other community programs.
